We are excited to announce that we have a colour and design expert joining the Inspirations Paint CQ team! Karen is an interior designer with over 20 years experience in the industry. We caught up with her to have chat and ask her a few quick questions so that we could introduce her to you all!
What is your new role here at Inspirations Paint CQ?
I provide customers with colour advice for interior and exterior paint schemes, as well as offering a Design and Decorating Service at a very reasonable hourly rate to renovate and transform homes and businesses.
How long have you been working in this industry?
For 21 years I've been designing and decorating everything from private homes, holiday apartments, to retail spaces.
What inspires you?
Firstly, I draw inspiration from the beauty of nature and its vast array of colours, textures and patterns. Then from the fashion industry as so often colour trends and other elements that have been seen on the catwalks of New York, London, Milan and Paris, filter through to textiles, fabrics and finishes for interior use.
What is your favourite interior trend?
Paint finishes without a doubt! You can achieve dramatic results so quickly. From changing the scheme of a whole house, to painting an old piece of furniture, or a feature wall, there is so much choice. I love some of the interesting finishes available including rust chalk paint, copper paint etc.
Favourite colour?
Natural colours as a base featuring with accents of colour to pep up the scheme and to suit individual tastes. I’m loving Denim Blue at the moment.
